As a stockholdEr of the Highland Park Hospital Association, you will be inter- ested to know that we are about to take the final steps of the plans long under consider- ation to vest the ownership of the Hospital in the Community. The Highland Park Hospital Association not for profit, was'organized many years ago to build and operate the Highland Park Hospital. Stock eertifieatee were issued at that time to those who donated funds for the erection of the building. The advantages which necessitated that form of organization have long since disappeared. The Hospital has been from the beginning a community enterprise, in fact; it is now desirable that it take the form of a Community enterprise. Those citizens who have' been actively interested believe that a permanent organization should be set up so that the control of the Hospital is in the hands of a larger group which would more nearly represent the entire Community and which would be actively and intimately interested in the man- agement of the Hospital. t In accordance with this idea the' Highland Park Hospital Fowation was incor- porated on February 11, 1987, under-the laws of the State of Illin s " a corporation not for profit. Under the Charter of the Foundation the memersllip of the corpora, tion would be forty five in number, known as Trustees, one-third of whom would be elected -each year for a term of three years. thus insuring to the citizens of Highland Park the direct interest of " least forty-Pu representative citizens in the main of the Hospital. The active management tt the affairs and funds will be in the hands of a Board of nine Managers elected by the Trustees of the Foundation. This Board will be responsible to the Trustees and through them to the Community. SubscriboforTHEPRESS It is the intention of the Present Board of Mangers of the Association to - the “sets of the Hospitsl to be eonvwed to the Foundation. Out of the total shook outstanding, 5347 shares or 021,975 have already been turned over to the Board at In- ngers and Trustees for this purpose. I In order that the present pIan may be consummated in one step and completed at an early date, we urge you to turn in your stock certificate. If your dock tsertttheate is lost or mielaid. you an aim the encloeed eseignment and and It In lieu of your certi- tkate.
