PAGE TEN Report Grape Crop Largest in Years Reports that this year‘s grape exop would be one of the largest in years recently disclosed by the U. 8. agricultural department are being interpreted by Highland Park houseâ€" wives into terms of sparkling jell, rich conserve, zestful juice, tasty pies and a host of other things. These things are made easily and well to the delight of her family by even the inexperienced homemaker, Uncle Sam‘s grape crop will amount to more than two and a half million tons. Of that amount Illinois will produce 8,500 tons. Probably much of the local supply of the late crop will come from Miâ€" chigan where at the present time 63,200 tons are being harvested, an increase of 24,500 tons over last year. East of California where many of the oldâ€"world varieties are produced the largest grape producers are Miâ€" chigan and New York states. Indians Prepare For Football Season With the football season already in full swing, the fast moving North Shore Indians Football team which is a combination of the Highwood Indians and the Highland Park Young Mens club, opened practice Tuesday evening at Sunset Park. Practice for this team will be held on ‘Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 o‘clock at Sunset Park. Bud O‘Conner last year‘s Indian coach, will be backfield coach this year and Jerryâ€""Tiny"â€"Garland â€"willâ€"beâ€"manâ€" ager and coach the line.
