Edward , Old . 1; Resident Dico, Funeral Held Tuesday Edward Zimmer, 70, well known jobbing contractor in Highland Park for many years, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Highland Park hospital where he had underâ€" gone an operation two weeks ago, and was apparently on the road to recovery, Complications developed Wednesday, which resulted in his death the following Saturday. At the age of 14 he came to Highland Park and made his home with his sister coming to Highland Park he sought employment and worked in various places. He was a very energetic man, and seldom took time for leisure or recreation. He was always anxious to complete the task that engaged him so that he might pass on to the next job that was waiting for him. Mr. Zimer was very u npretentious, quiet and unassuming and spent much of his time about his home. ‘Infant Welfare to Meet Monday, Feb. 28 Mr. Zimmer was known in the community as an excellent workâ€" On Nov. 10, 1891, Mr. Zimmer united in marriage with Miss Edith Cole of this city. There were three children born to them, all of whom are living. They are Winifield B. and Harvey Cole Zimmer and Mrs. Elmer R. Evans, all residents of this city. Mrs. Zimmer preceded her husband in death on Aug. 12, During the past ten years Mr. Zimmer‘s health was impaired seâ€" riously a number of times, but in each instance through sheer will power and persistence he heroicâ€" ally fought his way back, and again resumed his work. _ The deceased is survived by three grandchildren besides his two sons and daughter, and other relaâ€" tives an many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesâ€" day afternoon at 2 o‘clock at the Kelly chapel, with Rev. H. F. Siemâ€" sen of Bethany church officiating. Interment took place at Park Ridge cemetery. The regular monthly sewing meetâ€" ing of the Highland Parkâ€"Ravinia Center of Infant Welfare association will be held next Monday, Feb. 28, at the home of Mrs. Richard A. Kebâ€" bon at 432 N. Linden avenue. Assisting Mrs. Kebbon as hostâ€" esses will be Mrs. Cloud Wampler, Mrs. Mason Armstrong, and Mrs. Richard 8. Carr. Serving on the luncheon commitâ€" tee for this meeting are Mrs. W. W. Miller, Mrs. Haskele Rhett, Mrs. C. W. Schaaf, Mrs. Paul Phelps, and Mrs. Hugh H. Hospital Steve Kostial, who conducted a garage and blacksmith in West Lake Forest for the past eighteen years, passed away Saturday eveâ€" ning at 12:30 o‘clock at the Highâ€" land Park hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. For the past year and a half he had been ill with heart trouble. Funeral services were held yesâ€" terday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 o‘clock from the H. F. Kelley funeral home.
