Legion Auxiliary ‘ Wins Second Prize To Sponsor Cooking _ |On Amateur Hour The American Legion Auxuhty‘ are sponsoring a cooking school to be held Thursday, March 17th ini the Legion club rooms in Masonic | temple. ‘There will be an afternoon | and an evening session. This will be under the direction of Mrs. Tayâ€" lor of the North Shore ‘Gas comâ€" pany who <has previously demonâ€" strated in our community and has been enjoyed by the many who have heard her. The food which will be prepared and cooked is to be given away as prizes at the end of the lesson. . The public is cordially inâ€" vited to attend. A small fee will be charged. . 5 School March 17 The regular monthly meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary was held at the Legion club rooms on Thursday evening, March 2, and was attended by seventeen members and two guests, Mrs. George Weiss, child welfare chairman reported that one of the orphans, adopted by the local auxiliary had a birthâ€" day and cakes were given by Mrs. Weiss, Mrs. Johnston and Mrs, Salyards. . She also reported that on valentine‘s day a bushel of apâ€" ples was sent to the home and that the Juniors sent valentines and cookies which they had made. THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 1938 Mrs. Bell stated that the bunco party given by the Juniors had proved financially successful as well as socially. Mrs. Gust. Norrlen, community Service chairman, reported the disâ€" tribution of various articles among several families last month. Mrs. D. Johnson and Mrs. S, Shanafelt gave their report on the Rehabilitation conference held at Hines hospital and of the tea held at the Craft Shop in Chicago. . All articles displayed in the Craft Shop are made by World War Veterans. Adult Education Exhibit Is Being Held This Week An excellent display of work acâ€" complished in the various craft classes of the Adult Education projâ€" ect is now being exhibited in the English club room at the high school. This exhibit will last until Monday evening, March 14. The sewing class exhibit consists of dresses, ensembles, coats, blousâ€" es, pajamas and baby clothes.
