PAGE TEN 15 CANDIDATES FILE FOR DEERFIELD BOARD At the Deerfield Grammar school election for seven members, for a boeard of education, to be held on Saturday, April 9 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the grade school, fifteen canâ€" didates have filed for the seven places. Two full tickets are in the field and one independent candidate. Last week‘s Press contained an artiâ€" cle on the first ticket filed which inâ€" eluded the following names: For president, Burton B. This week‘s program will be under the direction of Marshall Pottenger, STAGERS ELECT On Tuesday evening at the annual dinner and business meeting of the "Stagers," dramatic club of the Deerfield Presbyterian church, James G. Russell was elected president for the coming year. Donald Clark is vice president, Edith Sherman, secâ€" retary; Robert Jordan, business manager; Milton Merner, property manager; and Kenneth Hunter, proâ€" duction manager. The first rehearâ€" sal for the next play, "Men Must Fight" got under way on Tuesday evening and the cast will be anâ€" nounced at a later date. This is the thind play and will conclude this season‘s series. OPERETTA Upper classmen in the Deerfield Grammar school will present an op» eretta, "The Band Wagon" on Friâ€" day evening April 1, in the school gymnasium, under the direction of Mrs. Virginia Engels Hardacre. A matinee performance for the school children will be given at 3 o‘clock on Thursday and a very small adâ€" mission charge will be made. The cast will be announced next week. CATHOLIC RECTORY Work on the new rectory for the Holy Cross Catholic church will be started this week. Last year the parish erected a threeâ€"room paroâ€" chial school and before the close of another year it is expected that the new home for the priest will be completed. Murphy. ; HOME MAKERS PARTY "Behind the Scenes‘in Radio" is to be the topic of two very clever and capable radio entertainers on Friday March 25 (tomorrow) at 1:30 p.m. in the Deerfield Masonic temâ€" ple.
