Monday The golfers would have taken secâ€" ond position in the league lhndin"z if it hadn‘t been for the 18% to 1 defeat that the New Trier squad handed them at Sunset last Monday. The High school golf team won third place in the Suburban league competition a result of a defeat New Trier handed us last Monday, First place wert to Waukegan, when they defeated Proviso at Wauâ€" kegan last week. May, ninth, the team defeated Oak Park at Oak Park, when Julio Camâ€" pagni played superb golf and came in with a score of 78, only to lose one down to Earl Wilde. Campagni, the number one man of the team, has played the toughâ€" est men the league has to offer, and has come through in the crucial moâ€" ments with the needed points to win. Usually playing in the second spot this year, is Deno Tamarri, the little "boy blye" of golf. _ Deno‘s perfect swing helped him to come in with a neat 79 at Lake Forest academy. â€" "Harry Mussato, number three man, is the key man of our victory pursuit," said Mr. Bolle, the coach, refering to the fact that Harry has compiled twelve and oneâ€"half points out of a possible fifteen in his five matches. ‘Tuesday noon, two 14 year old 148 South Second Street ‘Tel. Mrs. Pier had the cooperation and interest of the Highland Park High echool, and was. delighted at her good fortune in having so many of the splendid acts of the recent Stuâ€" dent Stunts repeated down there. It was a touching and lovely sight to see the many silverâ€"hai men and women all gathered gether in the large audience + eagerly awaiting the coming of the young people, and their delight and thorough enjoyment was manifested in their smiling faces and vigorous applause. It was indeed an unâ€" usual array of talent, and the young people all did so well, and seemed to enjoy giving this pleasure. At the close of the program the enâ€" tire group gathered together to sing Happy Birthday to all the folks TKE PRBESS who had May birthdays and the girls presented each of these with a little gift, also a little bouquet of pansies and forgetmenots which had been sent down by one of the women of the church, and a smiling "Happy Birthday." Every act deserves special menâ€" tion but they were all charmingly given and of a very fine artistic quality, and because so many of the audience do not hear well they loved the music and the dancing and the chance to see these fine young peoâ€" ple. Those who gave so generously of their talent were the string quarâ€" tette, Dorothy Burnham, Peggy Bingham, Louise Lyman and Morâ€" ton Raff, the vocal trio Marjorie Haworth, Anne Griffith and La Verne Meinhard; Frank Moran and Ruth Chalmers danced, Daniel Cobb sang, Eva Dinelli and Robert Lunâ€" din pianists, and Jasmine Sesso played the accordion. It is important for the driver of a ear to be in first class physical condition as it is for the motor of the car to be in good mechanical repair. They will not soon forget this happy afternoon, and the yPpung folks felt equally blessed in enterâ€" taining so many who never leave the home.
