THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 1988 High School P.T.A. Plans To Continue Popular Programs Mn»oehlboudnuï¬ncdth‘ High School P.T.A. and tea at the home of Mrs. Henry Clifford Hawes of Briar Hill road, Deerfield, on May 26, it was decided to continue the popular programs centering around school work. Mrs. Hawes, the charming and efâ€" ficient newly elected president, preâ€" sided, and all committee chairmen and district chairmen were present and were enthusiastic in planning the work for the coming year. Mrs. Laegler, in charge of memâ€" breship, plans to begin a memberâ€" ship drive with her district chairmen as soon as she can obtain lists of parents from the school. This comâ€" mittee hopes to have both parents join the P.T.A. and to have at least one, and perhaps several, meetings in the evening so that the fathers as well as the mothers may attend. ‘The present board expressed the hope that there would be many parâ€" ents of postâ€"graduates from the high school who will continue their interest in and support of the orâ€" ganization as associate members. Mrs. Binder, the program chairâ€" man, discussed numerous pouibil-‘ ities for the coming programs. Mrs. Binder has been watching what othâ€" er P.T.A.‘s are doing and offered these observations as hints for fuâ€" ture programs with splendid ideas of her own. Every one agreed that the school demonstrations such as staged by various high school clubs and departments given at meetings last year were most popular and should be considered for programs at one or more meetings for the coming year. Visiting night will be in the month of November with the usual dinner in the cafeteria, and freshmen teas under the capable management of Mrs. Volweiler will be held on September 21st and Sepâ€" tember 28th. ‘The principal, Miss Buzard, exâ€" plained the activities of the scholâ€" arship committee, of which Mrs. Rieâ€" ser is chairman. To aid in this work the P.T.A. board voted to apâ€" propriate $100 from the general fund, for scholarships. Interested individuals are contributing to this fund also. Parents of high school students will be interested in this complete list of officers, and it is hoped they will note the name of their district chairman and be ready to become members of the P.T.A. when called upon by the chairman or one of her helpers. â€" President, Mrs. Henry C.
