THURSDAY, AUCUST 4, 1938 GOLDEN WEDDING RECEPTION Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Renning will observe their fiftieth wedding anniâ€" versary on Monday, August 15, at their home on Brand lane, Deerâ€" field. It is also the birthday anniâ€" vetsary of Mr. Renning. They are not issuing any formal invitations but hope that their friends will drop in that day for a visit. They are keeping open house from 4 until 8 c‘elock. The Renning‘s two chilâ€" dren who will assist in the receivâ€" ing of guests are Albert Renning of Chicago and Mrs. Leslie Brand and the grandchildren. GARDEN PARTY The new theatre of the Wisconsin State university now in the process of being built promises to be one of the most up to date theatres in the country. The stage is approxiâ€" mately eighty feet by forty feet with a proscenium of tiirtyâ€"five feet This stage will have installed every modern< convenience for lighting and changing of scenery. Graeme Young of Deerfield has subjected for the approval of Mr. Lee Simenâ€" son of New York, who is acting in the capacity of technical adviser, a specially constructed stage that will change any size exterior or interior setting in about ten seconds. A demâ€" onstration of this same model will be made at a special meeting that will be held at the Highland Park library on the evening of August 12. The first dramatic class of this season held by the "Stagers" was very well attended. . Mrs. ‘Frank D. Burréughs of Brier Hill road invited mémbers of the garden department of the Deerâ€" field Women‘s club to visit garâ€" den on Tuesday afternoon an her gladiclas. Mr. and Mrs. Burâ€" roughs have specialized in the raisâ€" ing of these flowers and have named several varieties. After the memâ€" bers and their friends had viewed the floral display they were guests at téa in the garden of another member, Mrs. Monroe McKillip, also of Brier Hill road. . It is the Corâ€" nell University Medical Center conâ€" nected with the Rockefeller Founâ€" dation. Miss Warner‘s sister Mrs. Paul J. Sands (Anne) lives at Woodhaven, Long Island. Her father, the late Dr. A. R. Warner was a former secretary of the American Medical association and her mother, a nurse, so her backâ€" ground makes her doubly qualified for this very fine position. Mrs. David Inman was hostess to members of the Just Sew club on Tuesday afternoon at her home on Deerfield road. The Robert E. Jordans enterâ€" ined at dinner on Monday evening for . Miss Olive Frantz and Miss Anna Marie Herrmann attended a young people‘s conference at Naperville on Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Joseph Hansen is very eriâ€" tically ill in the Lake County Genâ€" eral hospital, following a* major operation on Monday. The Hansens live on the Thomas Dawson farm on Half Day road.
