JEFFRIESâ€"FERGUSON wWEDDING AUGUST 19 Th marriage of Miss Virginia Jeffries, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Jeffries, and Osborn Ferâ€" guson will take place Friday, Aug. 10. The wedding, which is to be a small chapel ceremony, will take place at 8 c‘clock in the evening at the Winnetka Congregational church. Next Wednesday, Jean Wilâ€" liams is giving a luncheon for Miss Jeffries at Exmoor and on Saturâ€" day there will be a dinner dance given by Miss Wright, there. Dorothy and Ruth Herbst, daughâ€" ters of Dr. and Mrs. R, H. Herbst, will be presented to society at a tea to be given Saturday, Sept. 17, at their home on Ravine drive. Both girls are graduates of Roycemore, while Miss Dorothy, the eldest of the two, received her diâ€" ploma last June at Milwaukeeâ€" Downer school where her sister has another year. Miss Dorothy is planâ€" ning to attend the University of Colorado next winter. f Mrs. Benjamin Morton Hair, the former Ruth Johnston, will enterâ€" tain at luncheon next Friday at her home in Chicago and Mrs. Henry Anderson will entertain at cocktails for the engaged couple Sunday afâ€" ternoon, Aug. 14. The bridal dinâ€" ner will be given the night precedâ€" ing the wedding by Mr. and Mrs. Jeffries in their walledâ€"in English garden. The groom‘s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Ferguson, of Dallas, Texas, are spending the summer in Sault Ste. Marie, and it is expected that they will be down for some of the preâ€"wedding parties. They are former Michigan residents. Mis Jeffries and her fiance will spend the week end at Sault Ste. LOCAL BOYS ATTE SUMMER SCHOOL Two Highland Park boys are among the 739 students enrolled this year at the Culver Summer Schools where representatives of 38 states, the District of Columbia, and four foreign countries are enrolled in either the Cavairy, Wooderaft, or Naval Schools. One hundred and four boys from Illinois are enrolled this year, records disclose. Ohio, with 158, leads the states in numâ€" bers. Highland Park boys at Culver are: James F. The Mcâ€" Cord family were enroute to their home from a month‘s sojourn in Colorado. Workmen at the Villa Louis last week began razing the coach house of the anteâ€"bellum estate, a reminâ€" der of the days when the Dousmans had their own race horses and cork race track. The old coach house will be remodeled and will house a museum of military life existent in Prairie more than a cetury ago. The coach house, the luxuriously restored Villa Louis, excavation of the first Fort Crawford and old fur trading posts, were among the points of interest in picturesque Prairie du Chien seen last week by James E. Greenbaum, M. O. Chandler and Mrs, Sewall Truax of Highland Park. Miss Helen Avery of Salina, Kanâ€" sas, and Miss Edna Wilson of Van Wert, Ohio, both secretaries of YWCA‘s, visited with Miss Mary Robe at the Highland Park YWCA last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Matthiesen of Broadview avenue are announcâ€" ing the birth of a daughter born Monday, August 1, at the Highland Park hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Harza of Pierce road will leave the middle of August for Charleston, South Carolina, where Mr. Harza is suâ€" pervising the building of a dam. They have taken a house in the old part of Charleston, and Mrs. Harza, for two years president of the Raâ€" vinia Garden club, hopes to explore many of the old gardens in and about Charleston. The Misses Dorothy and Ruth Herbst have as their guests today Nancy Forster, Carl Forster and David Everett of Milwaukee. Miss Dorothy will return with Miss Nanâ€" cy to spend the week end with her. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Flinn and daughter Marion spent the past twoâ€"weeks in Minocqua, Wis., vacationing. Frank J. Ronan, Jr., commanded Co. G of the 2nd Battalion at the C.M.T.C. at Camp Custer, Mich., recently.
