Move To Avert Repetition of Lake Tragedy eap of distance, combined as it alâ€" most invariably is with rough seas and heavy weather, make such longâ€" range help tragically inadequate, despite the most heroic efforts of the Coast Guard personnel. Highland Park desperately needs and deserves a United States Coast Guard Station. ‘The establishment of such a station would automatiâ€" cally carry with it the construcâ€" tion of some degree of sea protecâ€" tion in the form of breakwaters, to facilitate boat handling and moorâ€" ing. It is hoped that when all the facts are properly and earnestly presented to federal «muthorities, backed by the most recent evidence of loss of life and property, adeâ€" quate action can be stimulated. This, of course, would be a longâ€" time matter, which would require several years even if decided upon at once. Meantime, Highland Park will be devoid of protection unless furnished by its own citizens. The committee designated to raise monies for Highland Park‘s life saving equipment suggests that conâ€" tributions in any sum, be made in the form of checks or cash in the name of the Highland Park Lake Front Safety Fund, and sent or handed to Mr. Leo J. Sheridan, 1601 Dean avenue, Highland Park, or in care of the First National Bank of Highland Park. Adminisâ€" tration â€"and accounting for the exâ€" penditure of the fund will be in charge of the general committee named above. We wish to express our most sinâ€" cere appreciation for the sympathy and kindness extended by many relâ€" atives and friends during our reâ€" cent bereaverment.â€"Lencioni Famâ€" ily.
