Last June nationwide press noâ€" tices announced the interesting acâ€" tion taken by the Alpha Phi Interâ€" national Fraternity assembled in convention at Pasadena, California, in the commissioning of a famous portrait artist to paint a memorial portrait of Miss Frances E. Wilâ€" lard, for presentation to the new Freshman Women‘s dormitory to be dodiuudlns.mhrudnplw ing the original dormitory bearing Miss Willard‘s name. Miss Frances E. Willard, famed throughout the world for her devoâ€" tion to the cause of W.C.T.U., was an honored and revered member of Alpha Phi, that being her sorority affiliation when a college girl at Syracuse university. Later Miss Willard was instrumental in the founding of Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi on the Northwestern campusâ€" the first woman‘s fraternity to have a chapter there.
