Exâ€"Sheriff Ahistrom Passes on Thursday Edwin A. Ahistrom, 45 years old, chief of the Johnsâ€"Manville police force, passed away at the U, S. Vetâ€" erans‘ hospital at Hines, early last (Thursday) morning. ‘The deceased had held the posiâ€" tion of chief of police of the city of Waukegan, and served Lake county as sheriff from 1922 to 1926. He was born in Waukegan, May 10, 1893, and had always made his home in that city. During his earlier years he was engaged in the electriâ€" cal business, but gave that up when he entered the political field. He was appointed as chief of the Wauâ€" kegan police force in 1980, and since 1984 had been ‘with the Johnsâ€"Manâ€" ville company. â€"_ Mr. Ahistrom had not been feelâ€" ing well, and on Tuesday entered the Hines institution for observaâ€" tion. He ha dsuffered a severe atâ€" tack of asthms Monday night, but his condition was not considered serâ€" jous, and members of the family were planning to go to visit him when the news of his death reached He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Cole, and three daughâ€" ters, Mrs. Phyllis Lundquist of Los Angeles, Barbara Anna and Maraâ€" lyn Grace of Waukegan, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Lutter, Mrs. Edith Lundâ€" quist, and two brothers, Carl and Harry, all of Waukegan.
