Mr. Ball read the Patrol Oath and the patrol boys agreed to abide by the oath as read. Robert Putin, captain of the patrol, explained a series of posters which have been made by the sixth grde clas. These posters varied from traffic posters to problems of safety in the home. Te aw: dents in the assembly then asked questions in regard to the work of Complete Work Shop in Deerfield School A basement in the Grammar schoolâ€"has recently been redecorâ€" ated and reâ€"equipped <to make it suitable for use as a work shop. One end of the room was closed off so as to make two tool cages in which the equipment of the school may be placed when not in use. The floor in this room was repainted, new lights are being installed, and a work bench is being built along one wall. This shop and work room is beâ€" ing used by the W.P.A. recreation project at the school, and by the Boy Troop for their meetâ€" ings work. Any night or time the room is not now in use, it will be available for other groups in the community who wish to carry on crafts or such work under the general direction of the Recreation project. With the creation of the shop the school hopes to make possible a varied program of arts and crafts activities throughout the school. Such a program should make it posâ€" sible for the school to offer a better kind of education to allow for a vaâ€" riety of experience at each grade level and to meet the needs of indiâ€" vidual school children in a group.
