Anderson Installed President of Highwood Unit An impressive yet simple cereâ€" mony was witnessed by a large gathering of members and guests from other units of the Stupeyâ€" Smith Unit No. 501, Highwood, on Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, when the installation of officers for the ensuing year. took place.. .. Having taken over the gavel, Mrs. Anderson assured the unit that she would put forth her best efforts to make this year a successful one. McCracken Passes Away Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Elizâ€" abeth McCracken, who died Tuesâ€" day at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Wilson, of 250 Park aveâ€" nue, were held yesterday (Wednesâ€" day) at 2 o‘clock. Mrs. McCracken, who was 78 years old, was the widâ€" ow of Charles A. S. McCracken, for forty years managing editor of the Drovers Journal, He also served as live stock editor of the Tribung, the ‘The State Constitution is the Peoples‘ Law. The proposed Constitutional Amendment will remove the requirement of referendum on banking legisiation and enable our General Assembly to modernize our State Banking must receive a majority of all votes cast in order to ratify it; YES vore old Recordâ€"Herald, and Chicago Inâ€" terâ€"Ocean. He died‘in 1927. Mrs, McCracken was born in Chiâ€" cago, the daughter of John and Elâ€" len Hughes, pioneer settlers. The Hughes home on the north side esâ€" caped the flames in the Chicago fire and was turned into an emergency hospital and shelter for several famâ€" ilies. Mrs, McCracken is survived by Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Harwood Byrnes, dmcl::rl. and three sons, Howard, Wa , and Gordon. The funeral was at the home of Mrs. Wilson. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery. Charles J. Meyer Former Resident Passes Away Monday Charles J. Meyer, 76, an insurâ€" ance broker of Lombard, and a resâ€" ident of Highland Park for many years, died early Monday morning at St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, from a gunshot wound in the right temple.
