THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 "Boy Meets Girl" and "Wells Fargo" at the Deepath Picturesque and peaceful settings of New England at the turn of the century are transferred to the screen to serve as a background for "Mother Carey‘s Chickens," in which Anne Shirley, Ruby lnlor.‘ and James Ellison have the leading roles. Playing Thursday and Friâ€" day at the Deerpath. h A gay comedy of the eighteenth century, "The Great Garrick," starâ€" ring Brian Aberne and Olivia de Havilland, comes to the Deerpath Saturday. A notable cast includes Edward Everett Horton, Melville Cooper, Lionel Atwill, Luis Alberni, Henry O‘Neill and Lana Turner. Reunited after a screen up‘n&lfl:‘ of almost three years, James Cagâ€" ney and Pat O‘Brien are coâ€"starred in "Boy Meets Girl", which opens Sunday for a three day run. In "Boy Meets Girl" they head the cast which also includes that pretty blonde comedienne, Marie Wilson, ‘in her first leading roleâ€"said to be a "natural" for herâ€"Ralph Bellamy, Dick Foran and Frank McHugh. "Wells Fargo," mighty saga of the early western America, will reâ€" turn to the screen of the Deerpath Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Under the new network arrangeâ€" ment, Highland Park police are able through a loudspeaker in the staâ€" tion to receive all calls transmitâ€" ted by the other three stations. Similarly the three other departâ€" ments are receiving all calls sent out by members of the network. In this way cooperation between the four police forces is facilitated. 3 Children Suffer Slight Bruises In Auto Accidents Ray Richardson, nine year old son of Wilson Richardson, of 644 Michâ€" igan avenue, was struck by a southâ€" bound auto driven by Mrs. James Conoroton, 68, of 1870 Western aveâ€" nue, Saturday afternoon about 5:50 o‘clock. The child was crossing the street at the intersection of First street and Vine avenue. Three stitchâ€" es were taken in the boy‘s head by Dr. J. H. Lundstrom. Two four year old beys received facial cuts last Wednesday morning when the automobile in which they were riding struck a car parked in front cf 335 Vine avenue. Mrs. C. W. Cristal, the driver of the car, turned to look at her son, Philip Cristal, and his companion, Jack Tyson, son of J. K. Tyson of 807 Vine avenue, and failed to see the car parked ahead of her and crashed into it, according to the local police. The parked car was owned by Mrs, F. N. Bard of 459 Egandale road. Boy Steals Auto From Sales Lot Accused by Racine county police of attempting to pilfer gas Saturâ€" day night, Robert Ontka, 17, of 17 S. Second street, admitted that the automobile he was driving had been stolen. The vehicle, he said, was taken at 7 p.m. Saturday from the used car lot of the Rivers Motor Sales on S. First street. Ontka, who was seized in Racine county two hours later, was returnâ€" ed to Highland Park to face a preâ€" liminary charge. November 1st Last Registration Day for Local Voters Attention is again called to the necessity of registration for voters. Deerfield and West Deerfield tomnâ€" ships, and on that day all those who did nct register on October 18 are urged to make sur that their names are on the voting list. Dr. Trangmar Will Skhow Color Films At Lions Meeting The Highland Park Lions ¢lub are again announcing an interestâ€" ing program for today‘s luncheon meeting at the Twig ‘N Thistle. . ~ Dr. Frank Trangmar, of Ravinia, will show his technicolor movies of a recent fishing trip in Canada. Those who have been fortunate enough to have seen these pictures before, say it is one of the loveâ€" liest showings of movies they have seen in a long time. Watch that line bend as a wallâ€"eyed pike grasps the line, and then slowly as it is being reeled into the boat, feel your heart throb, just for the opportuâ€" nity to be grasping that rod. It is quite certain that the members who see this film today will return filled with enthusiasm and expecâ€" tation for next summer‘s outing. Tomorrow evening, Friday, the Lions club will entertain the chilâ€" dren at Dorcas Home with a Halâ€" lowe‘en party at 7:30 o‘clock. Enâ€" tertainment will consist of movies, Hallowe‘en games and refreshments, and the kiddies will be in for a good time, with Dick Martin, Paul Olâ€" son and Doc Christensen in charge of the affairs. . Highwood Junior Drum & Bugle Corps To Meet November 2 Due to next Monday being Halâ€" lowe‘en, the regular practice meetâ€" ings of the Highwood Junior Drum and Bugle Corps will be held on Wednesday, November 2. Boys in the drum division under the supervision of Armand Scarpe will meet at the home of Paul J. Muszik, 132 Highwood avenue. Boys in the Bugle section under Mr. F. L, McOmber Jr.‘s instruction will meet in the garage of the Highâ€" wood City Hall. Over 40 boys are already being trained for this first drum and bugle corps composed enâ€" tirely of Boy Scouts. Luncheon will be served to busiâ€" ness people beginning at 11:30. Anyâ€" one is welcome to attend the lunchâ€" eon, and those who wish may stay to play cards in the afternoon.
