Mrs. Van Riper‘s father became associated with Crane and company as meâ€" chanical engineer. Not only was she active in the Highland Park Woman‘s club, but she also was a member of a Norweâ€" gian Reading circle in Chicago known as the Aurora Borealis. Surviving Mrs. Van Riper are two daughters, Mrs. Edna Cady of Chiâ€" cago and Mrs, Ethel Britton of New Britton, Conn., and a son, James M. of this city. Park. She was 75 years old, being born in Kristiansand, Norway, June 14, 1864. She was a descendant of Norway‘s first king, Herold Farâ€" sager, in the year 853 A.D., also Queen Agnes who reigned in the fourteenth century. Her father was a mechanical enâ€" gineer who owned an estate Yaeâ€" gersburg in Kristiansand, where were located his mills and foundry. This estate now is used as a school for boys. + Funeral services were held yesâ€" terday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 o‘clock from her home, 339 Park avenue. Interment was in Rosehill cemetery. Mrs. Nathalie Dahn Van Riper, for 49 years a resident of Highland Park, died suddenly Sunday evening while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Britton, in New Britton, Conn. Mrs. Van Riper and her son had gone east last week and had spent two days at the New York World‘s Fair. Mrs. Van Riper was the last charâ€" ter member of the Highland Park Woman‘s club, residing in Highland Rev. H. Miller to Speak at Bethany Rev. H.
