On Monday morning, December 18, occurred the death of Mr. Elno E. Parratt, a resident of Highland Park for more than 50 years. His passing comes as a distinct shock to his many friends. Girl Scouts Bring Cheer to Needy All the Girl Scouts have been busy making Christmas gifts for the sick and the shutâ€"ins. Mrs. Ralph Arâ€" cher‘s troop No. 8 made 20 bedside bags. Mrs. Mills‘ troop No. 1 made 13 bedside bags and filled them. Each one contained a toy, a wash eloth, tooth paste, and a comb. On Saturday the Girl Scouts are going to put on a Christmas program at the Old People‘s home near Libertyâ€" ville. Many other things are being planned by the scouts to bring cheer to the needy at Christmas. Next High School Group Dance Jan. 13 Last Friday‘s party at the "Y" was very much enjoyed. Mr. Marâ€" tine is instructing the young people in all the new steps. The third in this series will be held Saturday night, Jan. 13. Reservations must be made through the "Y". Old Barn on Knox Property Burns Fire Saturday destroyed an old barn and shed on the Samuel Knox property on Sheridan road at Forâ€" est avente. The fire is believed to have been caused by sparks from a rubbish kins. The fire department respondâ€" ed twice to the Knox fire, the first call coming in at 2:10 p.m. and the second shortly after 6 in the eveâ€" ning. burner.
