The Golden Test was, "I am the light of the world : he that followeth we shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (Jobn 8:12). The Lessonâ€"Sermon also inâ€" cluded the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy : "Christ expresses God‘s spiritual, eternal nature. The name is synonyâ€" mous with Messiah, and alludes to the spirituality which is taught, i1 lustrated, and demonstrated in the life of which Christ Jesus was the embodiment. . . The advent of Jesus of Nazareth marked the first century of the Christian era, but the Christ is without beginning of years or end of days" (p. 383). Among the citations which comâ€" prised the Lessonâ€"Sermon was the following from the Bible: "The peoâ€" ple that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given" (Isaiah 9: 2, 6). The text of next Sunday‘s Lesson All are cordially invited to attend Holy Cross Catholic Church Deerfield Rev. J. V.
