Chicago will play host to a large group of educators from far and near when the Progressive Educaâ€" tion association holds its annual conference the week of February 19 to 24. So large a crowd is expected that meetings will be held in two hotels; the Padmer House and the Congress hotel. _ The conference theme is "Resources and Education." Preceding the actual conference program, three days will be given over to visiting housing projects, museums, schools, and libraries in the area and consideration will be given to all the forces, social, culâ€" tural, and religious in the environâ€" ment that bring their influences to bear upon the development of the child and the youth. Curriculum material will, of course, be consid> ered intensively as always, but this conference is important because it will see far beyond the four walls of the classroom. Dr. Winters Attends Demonstration of New Iron Lung Tuesday Representatives from all hospitals in the county were invited to atâ€" tend a demonstration of the new iron lungs, which have recently been purchased by Lake county residents, in a campaign conducted by the Waukegan Newsâ€"Sun, Tuesday eveâ€" ning at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago. Dr. William L. Winters of this city represented the local hospital, while Dr. A. J. Rissinger of Lake Forest and Dr. Bovik of Waukegan represented hospitals from their viâ€" cinity. H. P. Educators to Attend Progressive Education Meeting It was very apropos that this demonstration should be held on this evening, in view of the fact that it was the President‘s birthâ€" day. President Roosevelt has been instrumental in furthering a camâ€" paign to fight infantile paralysis in the United States. Lake county has been without equipment to take care of infanâ€" tile paralysis cases, and whenever such condition developed it has been necessary tq take patients to some other community outside the county for proper treatment.
