Instead of going to Hollywood, the movie makers are coming to Highâ€" wood. ‘That is announced today, following arrangements by the Highwood Lions club to sponsor a local movie titled, "We‘re in the Movies" which is to be filmed in Highwood, and shown at the Oak Terrace school on June 6th and 7th. Highwood Going Into Movie Filming An entertaining and amusing story will be built into a scenario. The cast will be chosen from local people, and all scenes will be of Highwood and vicinity, including parks, schools, churches, and repreâ€" sentative business places. A professional cameraman and director from the John B. Rogers Producing company will take charge of the production, and casting of characters will begin very soon. . Otto F. Fisher, president of the Highwood Lions club, is the general chairman in charge of the movie, and is being assisted by John Deâ€" Smidt, and Victor Benvenuti. Music Departments Plan Second Concert Everyone who listened to the liveâ€" ly and musical renditions of the Highland Park High school band, last Friday evening the attractive solos and stirring chorus and band ensembles will want to attend the next concert of the High School Music department, Sunday, May 5th at 3:30. Tickets for this concert may be obtained at Gsell‘s Drug store or bought at the door for a very small sum which will give the user an hour and a half of pure musical enjoyment. The coming concert will feature the chorus and orchestra, with solos and ensembles by members of these organizations. Under the dynamic leadership of William Fischer, a graduate of the Music Department of Northwestern university, where he is now studying for his Master‘s Degree in Music, the chorus is doâ€" ing outstanding work. It will be thrilling to hear these fresh young voices whose singing is so beautiâ€" fully modulated in such favorites as ‘‘The Gypsy Love Song" by Vietor Herbert and "Ride the Chariot" by William Smith, while the chorus soloists include two favorite young singers in Highland Park. The orchestra, which is under the direction of Mr. Finch, who so ably conducts the band and is head of the School Music Department, will also play numbers which are always welcome by the music loving public; Beethoven‘s Broica Symphony (1st Movement) and the Em perior Waltzes by Strauss. Some of the splendid soloists who have been winning first ratings at the Music contests will also play. Assisting Mr. Finch with the "Strings" is a young musician who is principal violinist in the fine Northwestern university Symphony Orchestra, Robert Gibson, also studying for his Master‘s Degree in Music, and a soloist of reputation in his native state, Kansas.
