MILNEâ€"IVINS WEDDING SATURDAY The marriage of Miss Margaret Robbie Milne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, John H. Milne of Evanston, and James E. Ivins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ivins of South Linden Ave., will take place on Sept. 7 at 4 o‘clock in the Lady chapel of St. Luke‘s church, the Rt. Rev B. F. Ivins of Milwaukee, an uncle of the bridegroom, officiating. A reception will follow at the home of the bride‘s parents. Miss Fanchon Milne will be her sister‘s maid of honor. Robert Webster will serve as best man for Mr. Ivins. John Milne Jr. and John C. McKenzie will usher. After a week‘s motor trip through the Smoky mountains Mr. Ivins and his bride will be at home in St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Balke of Deere Park announce the marâ€" riage of their daughter Barbara to Leon Hyzen of New York City. The ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace Henty Hanson, Sunday morning, September 1st. Mr. Hyzen is a graduate of Masâ€" sachusetts Institute of Technology, and won the Rotch scholarship which entitled him to two years study in Europe. Following three years at the Cinâ€" cinnatti College of Music, the bride spent two years in Europe studying with Hugo Becker. They will reside in New York City. A graduate of Roycemore, Miss Milne received her college degree from Smith in 1934. Mr. Ivins, a University of Wisconsin man, was graduated from the university‘s law school in ‘38. He is a member of Kappa Sigma. BARBARA BALKE IS MARRIED Marie Hammer will return to her home this week after a trip to New York. Mrs. Hammer will resume her private and group teaching of muâ€" sic and piano on September 8th. Marriage licenses issued the past week were for: Edward Wing of Highland Park and Myrtle Doland of Highwood; George Heinsman and Rosa Shepherd both of Highland Park; Robert Tromp of Highland Park and Jane Hahm of Evanston; Hawthorne Pettie of Highland Park and Della Padley of Evanston; George Klapak of Highland Park and Mary Sabath of North Chicago. Two more parties on the calendar for Miss Barbara Gallup, before her marriage to Knox Booth September 14th, are those two of her bridesâ€" maids Miss Phyllis Durbahn and Miss Katy Lew Vail are giving. Miss Durbahn will entertain at a closctâ€"shelf, dresserâ€"drawer shower on Tuesday and on Thursday Miss Vail will give the spinster dinner. Mrs. Mayme Balding returned Tuesday from a ten day visit with her father Matt Yager of Sauk Cenâ€" ter, Minn. Sewall Truax enjoyed the Labor Day weekâ€"end at the Indiana Dunes. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hammond of Evanston, formerly of Highland Park spent the weekâ€"end fishing at Stone Lake, Wis. Miss Virginia few days at Pz last week. Because of condiâ€" tions in Europe today Miss Julian has been en route since June 25th, having had to cross the dessert inâ€" stead of coming all the way by water as heretofore. Mr. John Creigh of Minneapolis, Minn., will arrive here the latter part of the week for a few days visit with his family the Thomas Creighs. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Willison and daughter spent the weekâ€"end and early part of the week with relaâ€" tives at Effingham, Ill. The Harold Bridges have returned from their summer home at Highâ€" land Lake. On Labor Day they were hosts to a group of Highland Parkâ€" ers who enjoyed their picnic supper there. Mrs. Thomas Creigh was hostess to the board members of the Highland Park hospital at luncheon Wednesday, The Roderick Macphersons of N. St. Johns avenue returned home yesâ€" terday from their summer home at Phelps, Wis. Mrs. Thomas Creigh and daughâ€" ter Virginia returned Saturday from their summer home at Battle Lake, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Metcalf and family of the Udell Building reâ€" turned last weekâ€"end from Washâ€" ington and Oregon where they spent the summer visiting relatives. Mrs. Edward Strenger and Mrs. William J. Nelson have returned from their six weeks sojourn at Eagle River. Mr. Strenger and Mr. Nelson joined them at Eagle River over the Labor Day ‘weekâ€"end, Mrs. Viola Conrad is visiting her brother, Mr. Oscar Pansie in Fisk, Wis., for three weeks. Miss Florence Leuer of Homewood avenue has returned from her posiâ€" tion in Washington, D.C., where she has been employed for the past year.
