Park Board oPstponed The Park board will meet on Monâ€" day, May 19, instead of Monday, May 12, as was previously planned. Mrs. Hawley, who directs the club singing and is also the accompanist, read an original poem which she wrote about the operetta. Last Tuesday, Mrs. Lisle R. Hawâ€" ley, entertained the club members at a one o‘clock luncheon. A short business meeting followed the lunchâ€" eon at which time a report was given on the operetta "The Middle Maids" which the club presented on April 18 at the Masonic temple and which was sponsored by Campbell Chapter No. 712, Order of the Eastâ€" ern Star. The Musart club will meet next Monday afternoon, May 12, at 2:30 at the home of Mrs. John Erickson on Gray avenue. It is earnestly hoped that the band, chorus and orchestra will draw more students into these inâ€" teresting musical organiaztions, both from the school student body and from the large entering class of boys â€" and girls from the twelve grade schools in this district. MUSART _ CLUB TO â€" MEET NEXT MONDAY Last Saturday evening, the orâ€" chestra received a second rating, which means excellent work, at the State High School Music contest held in Glen Ellyn. Mr. Finch was much pleased with this decision of the judges. Almost one hundred and twentyâ€" five dollars was added to the music fund of the Highland Park high school, as the result of the two loveâ€" ly spring concerts presented by the band, chorus and orchestra of the school, under the expert leadership of Mr. Harold Finch and Mr. Walâ€" ter Aschenbrenner in late March and April. Enthusiastic applause greeted the orchestra and the chorus, and the exceptionally fine playing of Andrew Jacobs, Jr., beauâ€" tiful singing of Marion Berg and resonant reading of Arthur Dubin at the April concert. sCHOOL MUSIC FUND GROWS FROM CONCERT TmBIBEACH WALK MARINE DINING ROOM CL.T‘..,.
