Roberts of Detroit, Mich., will take place Saturday, May 17, at St. Patrick‘s church in West Lake Forâ€" The wedding breakfast will be served at the Open House in Highâ€" land Park immediately after the ceremony. A shower, planned by Mrs. Riley Thomas, Mrs. Harold Shelton and Mrs. Wayne Liyons, was given for Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Thomas, at their apartment, 34 N. Sheridan road, Saturday night. Later in the evening an old fashioned barn dance was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ruffis Burgess, Green Bay road. Mrs. Thomas, before her marâ€" riage April 23, was Miss Stella Horâ€" ton of Wyconda, Missouri. VERNIE THOMAS‘ HONORED AT SHOWER The Cawleys were married at St. Mary‘s church, 582 Laurel avenue by Rev. J. C. Madden. Mrs. Cawley was Miss Ann Cullen before her marriage. They are the parents of six children: William Cawley, Miss Ann Cawley, and Mrs. Marie Mann, Highland Park; Harry Cawley and Mrs. Marguerite Weissus, Chicago and Charles Cawley, Madison, Wis. They also have 14‘ grandchildren. Mr. Cawley was born in County Mayo ,Ireland, 76 years ago. He is an employe of the city of Highland Park‘s department of public works.
