The applicants include officers, army and navy wives, Red Cross workers, and others for whom there is no provision for residence at the posts. The very limited housing facilities for these temporary residents in Highland Park are already taxed to capacity. It therefore becomes imperative to find additional accommodations in private homes. An‘urgent appeal is now made to local residents to open their homes to these strangers. Such a méve on the part of any citizen would be a patriotic act of immeasurable and practical value.
