Aviation Cadet Harry Carlsen who received his preliminary training at San Antonio, Texas, reported for the second phase of his flight training on May 25 at the Harman Primary Flyâ€" ing school, Bruce Field, Ballinger, Texas. A. course at Keester Ficld, Miss. Roger J. Peddie reported to Great Lakes Naval Training Station on Monday to begin his boot training. The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Peddie of Homewood avenue, he is a member of the recent graduating class of Highland Park high school. To qualify for this special training, tests were given in April at Louisiana State university to 500 soldiers. Pvt. ZurWelle, who gave up his former rating as corporal to attend school, has just completed four weeks at Bayâ€" lor before starting the new course. He is the son of Mrs. Marie R. ZurWelle of Cary avenue. Lieut. Robert C. Hangren who reâ€" ceived his wings and commission as second lieutenant, in the army air force on May 29 at Alburquerque, N. M., has reported to Hamilton Field, Calif. Before reporting to his new post, Lieut. Hangren spend a leave with his father, Ray Hangren, of Jeffrey‘s place, Highwood. Pvt. Richard ZurWelle, who entered service in January, is studying at Bayâ€" lor university, Waco, Texas taking a threeâ€"month technical training course in engineering. Army Air Cadet Donald E. Nichols Jr. is attending a twoâ€"month‘s course at Pennsylvania State college. Upon completion of the course, he will be sent to Nashville where he will be Cpl Edward Fischet, son of Mrs. Edwin Fischer of W. Park avenue, spent ten days leave visiting his mother and wife, Jean, last week. Aurelio L. Ceccotti 302 N. St. Johns avenue, has been assigned to the medical replacement center at Camp Robinson, Ark. Recently inâ€" ducted, his training will be a twelve week course after which time he will be assigned for duty to some medical department unit. Two other sons are also serving in the‘ armed forces. Frank, twin brother of Robert, entered service in March and is with the finance departâ€" ment of the army air corps at Leesâ€" burg, Fla. ; A Pic. Phillip Muzik, son of Mrs. Catherine Muzik of Everts place, Highwood, has reported to Fort Crook, Neb. after being transferred from Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. Aviation Cadet Joseph D. Zaak has completed his preâ€"flight training at the University of Iowa and is now stationed at the Naval air school in Minneapolis taking his basic training. Cadet Xook, the son of Mrs. J. D. Zook of N. Linden avenue, was sworn into the all Lake County . Hjalmar Olsen squadron last summer. Licut. Edward Tonneson, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Tonneson of S. Sheridan road, has arrived in England where he is now serving with the U. S. Army Air Forces. He received his wings and commission at the Victorâ€" ville air school in California last Noâ€" vember; 5 Pvt. James Sorg is stationed â€"at Robbins Field, Ga. attached to the radio branch of the signal corps. He has been in service a year. Schmidiey was one of a selected group of enâ€" listed men designated to attend the officer candidate school. Lieut. Shermer Keller has returned to duties as an instructor in celestial navigation at Hondo, Texas, after spending ten days leave in Highland Park. They are the sons of the Rev. and Mrs. Christoph Keller of Prospect Lieut. Schmidley spent a few days leave with his parents, the Oscar Schmidleys, and then left for New York to take advanced training. Marine Capt. Christoph Keller Jr. is taking advanced training at the marine staff and command school, Quantico, Va. Leo Contri has been promoted to corporal at Camp Barclay, Texas, where he is serving with the military police. He is the brother of Mrs. Mike Lunardi of Washington avemue, Highwood. Robert A.
