Mr. Willits is the son of Mrs. Agnes Tully of St. Mary‘s, Ontario, Cahada. Mr. Willits is employed by the Pacific Northern Airlines at Anâ€" chorage where the couple will make their home. $.. Mr. William C. McCulloch of 1358 Broadview avenue was one of the principal speakers last Friâ€" day at the Mining Institute at Springfield, Illinois, His subject was "Coal Benefication." ' PLEDGED TO HONORARY ORGANIZATION Quarterdeck Society, honorary organization for students in the Naval R.O.T.C. program of Purâ€" due University, has recently anâ€" nounced its fall pledge class. Pledâ€" ges were selected.on the basis of their scholastic performance and their interest in the unit. Among those selected from the junior class was Robert Berg, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Berg of Sheldon lane. James Stephenson, son of the S..C. Stephensons of Clavey lane, is a sophomore pledge. Mr. Ulfenberg, an organist and music teacher in the Karlstad. schools, is in this country for a six months‘ visit. He spent some time with a sister in Chicaâ€" go and plans a trip to the west roast soon to visit with a brother in California, Enroute to the east coast he plans another: stopover with the Eriksons. The wedding of Miss Clara Frances Ponsi, daughter of Mrs. Germano â€"Ponsiâ€"of 1 301 â€"Pleasant avenue, and Herbert R. Zimmer, son of F. J. Zimmers of 182 North End Court,. took place on Saturday, November 6, at 6 p.m. at ,the Immaculate Conception church, ‘the Rev, O‘Connell readâ€" ing the service. PONSIâ€"ZIMMER WEDDING The bride wore an aqua colored moire dress complemented by matching veiled headdress trimâ€" med with seed pearls. She carried an oldâ€"fashioned bouquet of white carnations. Her sister, Mrs. Florio Orsi, attended as matron of honor. Her brown moire dress was made like that of the bride‘s, Her beadâ€" ed headband was pink and the carnations in the old fashioned bouquet she carried were also pink. Florio Orsi served the brideâ€" groom as best man. Only the immediate families and close friends attended the ceremony and reception at the home of the bride‘s mother which followed. About sixty were presâ€" ent. Mrs. Lew Sarett of 1732 S. Green Bay road spent ten days recently in Tampa, Florida, visitâ€" ing with her mother, Mrs. J. E. Johnson. BACK Back home after a five weeks‘ visit* with his brother and his family, the Jeff Cassels, in Lourâ€" des, France, is Louis Cassel of 1400 Pleasant avenue, Mr. Cassel also visited in Paris and spent five days in Spain, He returned home on Sunday. The Misses Dora and Esther Krueger of 691 Deerfield avenue and Miss Ann Peter of Lake Forâ€" est recently returned from a ten day vacation. They spent a féw days with cousins in Salina, Kanâ€" sas, and a few days.in Beeryville, Arkansas, visiting with the Harvey Rebers, former Highland Parkers. After ‘spending the past five months in Calicoon, New York, Mrs. F. D. Austin of Ravinia has returned. home. VISIT IN VIRGINIA Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nellis of 116 No, Linden Avenue, were in Williamsburg, Virginia this week visiting the historic city that has been restored to its 18th century appearance by John D. Rockeâ€" feller, Jr. While in the city they were guests at the Williamsburg Lodge and viewed several of the buildâ€" ings that have been restored or reconstructed as they were two centuries ago when this city was capital of England‘s largest and wealthiest American province, the Virginia Colony. Hughes of Phoenix, wore a gown of white satin, made with a fitted bodice, and full skirt with tulle back rufflies ending in a train. Her fingertip veil fell from a halo of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of gardenias and orange blossoms. Her father gave her in marriage. + Miss Barbara Crandall, maid of honor, wore a light pink taffeta gown with back ‘fullness. Her matching gloves and hat were net. She carried a bouquet of pink carâ€" nations. Miss Betty Park, bridesâ€" maid, was similarly gowned and her bouquet, too, was like that of the maid of honor. BRIDAL SHOWER The executive committee of the Chicago Chapter Red Cross has elected Charles Z. Henkle, 17 Brittany Road, chairman of the organization. ELECTED CHICAGO RED CROSS CHAIRMAN Mr. Henkle, who is viceâ€"presiâ€" dent of the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Comâ€" pany of Chicago, replaces Earl Kribben, 1430 No. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, who has resigned as chairman of the Chapter. The new chairman was head of the Chicago Chapter‘s 1948 fund drive and is a member of the organizaâ€" tion‘s executive committee. In June, 1948, he became Chapter viceâ€"chairman. There are two sons, Bruce,â€" 5, and Barry, 6 months. NEWCOMERS TO HIGHLAND PARK Newcomers to Highland Park are Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Simonich of 2339 Blackhawk. From Stutt gart, Germany, where they have lived since Mr, Simonich‘s release from the service, they purchased their home here. Mr. Simonich, a former Lieutenant Colonel, met his wife, a Belgian, durjng the war. They are the parents of two little girls. The regular monthly meeting of the Womans Society of Christian Service of the Wesley Methodist church will be held at the Highâ€" wood church, Tuesday, November 16 at 8 p.m. Mrs. R. Peterson, president will preside. Final plans for the bazaar will be made. All members are urged to be present. WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH Armistice Celebration At Presbyterian Church At the eleven o‘clock service on Sunday, November 14, the Armisâ€" tice Holiday will be observed by the Church in a solemn cereâ€" mony in which the service flag will be retired.
