Both exemplified the characte?, scholarship and love of children so edgential to good teachâ€" Jehn William Holmes was born in. Baraboo, Wisconsin in 1920. He attended the high school at Baraboo and received his B. A. degree at the University of Wisâ€" consin in‘ 1940 and his Master‘s degree at the University of Chiâ€" cago in 1948. Mr. Holmes taught at the high school in Palatine Illiâ€" nois for one year before coming to Highland Park,. He served in the U. S. His quict scholarly manner, love of teaching . and â€" conscientiousness had endeared"him to his Tellow teachers and to the students at Braeside School.
