Freund An Enjoyable Hallowe'en , Among the unusually enjoyable Hallowe'en events to take place in McHenry was the one planned and executed by the members of St. Clara Court, W. C. O. F., of this village. The occasion took place at their hall on Thursday evening of last week A program, previously arranged, was carried out in a manner that brought forth much applause. Some very clever "stunts" characterized the program; which set forth unmistakable evidence that St. Clara court has in her membership a number of good actresses. -Another pleasing feature of the evehing's program was a short talk by Mrs. Elizabeth Steilen, recorder of St. Susanna court of Chicago. At an appropriate hour refreshments were served. There were 105 guests present. Besides the [members of the local court, their friends and prospective members, a number from St. Agatha ' court, Johnsburg, were also in attendance. A beautiful quilt, made by the members of the local court, was raffled off during the evening, the winner being Mrs. Catherina Jung. The proceeds of the raffle, together with the admission fee of 25 cents the person, will be used in the purchase, in the near future^ of a beautiful new banner for the court. Surprised When Robert Weber, Who ia employed at the N. H. Petesch drug store, arrived at his home on Mon day evening of this week he found a company of friends and a spread I awaiting him, the latter prepared by host's mother. The event wa»; planned in honor of his seventeenth We*t^!ife--iervice--mileage- safety--comfort. These are the things that count in tire.
