Our people were sorry to learn of the misfortune that befell Martin Thelen at Round Lake on Monday night of this week, when his garage .building and entire contents were detroyed by fire. Mr. Thelen is a for mer Johnsburg boy, but has been located at Round feake for some years at The Johnsburg All Stars will open their baseball season at the local baseball diamond next Sunday afternoon. May 1, at which time they will meet the Chicago Lincoln A. C. team. The team is composed of some excellent baseball timber and the boys are looking forward to a very successful season. Can we not rely upon yon doing this? t Mr. and Mrs. Martin Williams, who reside near Solon Mills, have the sympathy of our people in the loss of their only child, a boy aged two years and four months. The child had been ailing about two weeks prior to his death, which occurred last Friday evening. The funeral took place from St. John's church here at 10:00 o'clock on Monday morning of this week with Rev. Wm. Weber officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery adjoining the church. Foreetera Initiate Claea A 'ffrnaa of about twenty-five candidates, who have since then become affiliated with the Johnsburg and McHenry courts, were initiated at parish hall here last Thursday evening before a large gathering of Foresters representing the local and McHenry courts. The work was put on by a team from Elgin, headed by Adolph Fischer, and many considered it the best ever put on here. It had been planned to hold a group meeting after the initiation work, but on account of the lateness of the hour this was found impossible, and therefore was necessarily postponed until some future time. Johnsburg court now has a w -bership of 118 and the officers and members are out to make it 150. The work of Thursday evening was followed with the serting of refreshments.
