Young has moved to the farm owned by the Owen arttfte. v. On Thursday morning the news was received here that - Charles Byrd of 9fc Louis, son-in-law of H. Nordquist aad wife of this village, had been severely and dangerously burned with kerosene and on Saturday morning another dispatch announced that he and died of his injuries. Ha leaves a wife and two daughters. One Great Event One of the greatest events of the ' atason was held at the Lone Maple, oat Fox river east of this village, one evening recently. A. H. W atson, the . hustling real estate man, owner at the Lone Maple and who has been confined to his bed thru an injury received January 27, enjoyed it immensely. Under the management at Boa TTionneson and H. Quinn some well known Chicago talent was on hand to assist in making the occasion the enjoyable event it proved to be. Fred Krummerow, known thruout the country as a bass singer, and his wife, Mrs. Bertha Krummerow, well known soprano singer, contributed some very enjoyable numbers to the evening's program. Henry Frundel and son played "The White Cockcade" on the tin whistle. Four fiddlers were there. Mike Purcell was awarded first prize, a gold medal; Mike Conway, •prize, a diamond stud; Martin easily walked away with the pa?ze for playing second, a pair of diamond cuff buttons. Bill Quinn, last but not least, won a leather medal. Mrs. L. Huck appeared in a skirt dance. Mrs. Ella B. Tbonneson tfarbled a few fine yoddles. Each of t|ie two ladies was presented with a #re pound box of candy. Bill Burke gave a few selections on the jazz bow. One of Chicago's greatest cabaret singers, M. Wollpert, sang "Tuck Me ts Sleep." May Moon, Auggie Moon aad Lottie Moon sang some very poplar selections. Henry Quinn sang flie Same Old Moon Is Shining." hn Trust and Mike Ice sang "Till e Meet Again." Mike Conway sang 4 beautiful ballot entitled, "Pigeon ' the Gate." Andrew Hansen sang a song entitled "Lone Spade." Recitation by Al. Asmalsky, "Which Way Does This Read Go." This recitation ! ijras answered by Bill Quinn with "I Have Lived Here For Fifty Years and ^ • Have Never Seen It Go Anywhere." "^Where Is My Other Foot" was rendered by Harry Romine. Bill Quinn Rendered a selection entitled "Why t>id They Build Fox River So Close to , |he Shore." Last, but not least, a Song by John Dreymille*, "Lather and Shave For Every Man."
