Motion carried. Motion by Doherty, seconded by Overton, that the minutes be accepted as corrected. Motion carried. Motion by Knox, seconded by Krause, that the treasurer's, collector's, clerk's and Supt. of waterworks reports be referred to the auditing committee and they to report on same on Monday evening, May 5, 1924. Motion carried. Motion by Doherty, seconded by Knox, that the bills be accepted as O K.'d by the finance committee, including officers' salaries and Fairbanks- Morse & Co. anticipation warrant for $500 and interest. Motion carried. Motion by Knox, seconded by Doherty, that permission be granted to L. Baer, Geo. Wirfs, Rev. Chas. Nix and John Brown to construct an extension of the new sewerage system, according to the plans and specifications furnished by the Wells Engineering company, eight inch pipe and regulation manhole to be used. Motion carried. Motion by Overton, seconded by Wattles, that the city assume its ap propriate share on the extension of sewerage on Ringwood road and $14 toward the manhole. Motion carried Motion by Knox, seconded by Doherty, that the offer of John Nuveen ft Co. for the purchase of $10,000 road bonds at a price of par and accrued interest, the city to pay the sum of $150 for printing and furnishing the bonds and attorney's legal opinion on same be accepted provided that the state route No. 20 is let thru the city of McHenry on the route now planned. Motion carried. Mayor Wells made- the following recommendations to the city council that the auditing committee t*e composed of Chas. B. Harmsen Jot the second ward, Wm. J. Welfch of the first ward, Joseph J. Miller of the third ward and Wm. G. Schreiner. Motion by Knox, seconded by Krause, that the recommendations made by Mayor Wells be approved. Motion carried. Mayor Wells appointed Doherty, Wattles and Krause to canvass the votes. They having canvassed the votes found that in the first ward there were 223 votes cast. Albert Kamholz received 81 votes, Wm. J. Welch received 92 votes, Richard I. Overton received 119 votes and Peter Doherty received 124 votes for 'aldermen; R. G. Chamberlin received 89 votes and D. G. Wells received 128 votes for mayor; N. H. Petesch received 131 votes for treasurer; Ray F. Conway received 119 votes and Wm. G. Schreiner received 101 votes for clerk. - 1 In the second wdrd there" were 228 votes cast. R. G. Chamberlin received 139 votes and D. G. Wells received 78 votes for mayor; C. W. Motion by Krause, seconded by Doherty, that D. G. Wells be duly elected mayor. Peter J. Doherty, Richard I. Overton be duly elected aldermen of the first ward; C. W. Goodell and Peter M. Justen be duly elected aldermen of the second ward; Robt. Frisby and James Perkins be duly elected aldermen of the third ward. N. H. Petesch be duly elected treasurer atnd Ray F.
