The Odd Fellows of Woodstock enjoyed a picnic in Bull Valley on July 21 and a game of ball with the boys of the neighborhood. A few more drying days and we can ride on cement to the county seat. The work of pouring the cement was expected to be finished last Saturday. Miss Ammie Francisco is much improved in health^ still there is a chance for much more improvement. Clear, warm weather agrees with her best. Early potatoes are looking fine and small grain is changing color. Farmers are wishing for less rain so they can get haying done before harvest is here. Henry Penn, wife and children, who a few years ago lived in this section, but now in Chicago, motored out from the city last Sunday and called on old friends. Strawberry season is over, but there is seldom so many berries to can as this year. And now raspberries are on hand quite plentiful and of good quality. Mrs. Abbie Martin received word from her son, Clinton, and wife that they reached their destination at Belleview, Florida, July 16. They had a fine trip and no trouble but a few punctures. Mr. Martin will soon be on the road for Illinois. He will come by* auto.
