Death Takes Pioneer Resident Mrs. Martha Burnett passed away at noon list Wednesday, March 11, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Huson, at Rockford. Marttik Brand, daughter of James ar.d Mary Brand, was born January 10, 1844, on the Brand farm in Wauconda township. They were among the earnest settlers in Lake Cjunty. She spent her girlhood here with her parents, and in April, I860, was united in marriage to William Burnett, who passed away a year ago last September. Mrs. Burnett lived 58 years on her farm in this community but since July 27, 1923, she and Mr. Burnett hnve made their home with Mr. and Mrs.' Geo. Huson at Rockford. Mrs. Burnett had been in failing health for several years and though her death was not unexpected, her passing was a severe shock to her family. She was the last surviving member of five children. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, G. J Burnett of this community, who with his wifev had faithfully cared for his mother and father during their days of illness and elderly age, while they' lived on their farm here. Also one! daughter, Mrs. Geo. Huson of Rock-1 ford and a grand daughter, Mrs. Bur-' dette Ellsworth, also of Rockford, Funeral services were held at the- Huson home in Rockford last'Friday' afternoon at two o'clock. Interment was in" the mausoleum there. The community extends its sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Burnett in their bereavement. RINGWOOD S. W. Brown and Lewis Hawley were Woodstock visitors Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Justen and Mrs. \frm. Justen were Chicago passengers Tuesday. Mrs. Wm., Hepburn and daughter, Marion, were Chicago shoppers last Saturday. Miss Berteel Spencer of West McHenry was a Sunday guest in the home of Wm. Coates. Miss Marian Bennett of Woodstock was a pleasant caller in the home of Mrs. A. W. Smith Tuesday. Edson Hodge, who has been ill for several weeks, has improved so he Is able to sit up part of the day. Elmer and Julian Butler of Chicago were week end guests of their sister, Mrs. F. A. Hitchens and family. Mr. and Mrs. H. M.
