Several games of bunco were played and the first prize was won by Mrs. Ray Merchant, second, Adele Young; third, Mrs. Paul Meyers and the consolation by Mrs. Leon Dodge. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cristy were hostesses on Kew Year's day to a large company of relatives and 'riends. At noon a delicious homt dinner was served with twenty-one seated at the table. The occasion was also the birthday anniversary of John Cristy and at supper a beautiful birthday cake with seven pink candles on it was served. Art Peterson spent Thursday and Friday with his mother and sisters at Ringwood. Friday .evening, MSss Helen Vasey entertained a party ef friends on her birthday. Games were played after which a delightful luncheon was served. Lloyd Fisher's son is ill with whooping cough. Mrs. Clara Dowell spent several days with her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Fisher. The Ladies' Aid are very well pleased with the New Year ottering, which was collected by the president. Mrs. Joe Vogt will entertain the Ladies' Aid at dinner on Thursday, Jan. 5. Lewis Lnsk was a business featter in Chicago on Tuesday. Miss Vera Vasey has returned to her school work at Urbana. This week the quarentine was lifted on the Tom Vasey home. On Monday afternoon, the new store room at the Y. M. C. A. burned to the ground. Blankets and storage were a total loss. On New Year's Day, Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Wait entertained at dinner, their daughters, Mrs. A. Boehmer and family of, Wauconda, also Mrs. H. Stroker and family of Waukegan. No school was held in the Brick school on Monday on account of the severe cold. Mies Shippert haB returned from her home at Dixon to resume her school duties here. La Feme Wait has been on the sick list. The Misses Georgia and Helen Vasey spent the week-end with friends at Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Block are moving into the city. Mrs. Mike Wagner spent several days with her son, Joe, who is ill with pneumonia. Mrs. Grace Kirwan spent the week with her sister at Ringwood. The infant baby of Mrs. Lloyd Eddy is seriously ill with bronchial pneumonia. Will White of Chicago spent the week with the G. A. Vasey family^ 0 Mr. and Mrs. G. A.
