The prompt action by the authorities made the spreading of the disease inj!- possible Our neighboring village of Johnsburgh, three miles up" the river, also had one case that came out from Chicago, a daughter of Simon Michaels, who died from the disease on Monday last. Supervisor Cristy also rook pre­ cautionary measures there, closed all places of business, the school, etc., and we trust prevented the spread of the disease. No one need be afraid to come to McHenry, as we can truly say there is now no small pox here.
