DIED:--In W.aukegan, Oct. 12th, 1883, Enoch Morse, aartnl 7« j cars. Mr. Mors* was born in Wayne Co. N. Yi, and afterward itved several years in Ohio. His wife wss'a daughter of the late Levi Marble, one of the early settlers of this precinct. Mr. Mors* removed with his family to this county ill 1839. settling at Fort Hill where he purchased some land for a farm and aho established a gun shop, lie rented his farms several years ajjo and removed to Waukegan, where he resided at the time of his death. He owned a|* the time of his death a valu able residence property in Waukegan, a farm of 320 acres in the town ol Avon and another of about the same size, in- cludi.ig Fort Hill Mound, in the town of/Freemont. He leaves a widow, a son (C. C. Morse. Esq., of Avon), and a daughter (Mrs. Julia Fredericks, of Waukegan). surviving him. W. and Emma Mead, which sorrowful event occurred on Wednesday, the 7th inst., after a brief Illness.' She was taken sick on the preceding Friday, and on Saturday she was found to have a suppurating tonsil. As It was an affection to which she was subject it gave no uneasiness to thn physician or family until Tuesday morning, when it was found that symptoms of malig nant diphtheria had supervened, and she died in the forenoon of the next day. It was deemed prudent not to keep the body, and It was burled at Ringwood the same day. On Sunday the funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. G rover C.Clark, at the Metho dist church. Lora wa9 one girl of a thousand. Though only a little over 11 years of age, she was thoughtful ami womanly beyond her years. An Intelligent and attentive pupil in school,engaging and pleasant among her associates of her own age, and modest and unassuming in the presence of her elders, and con siderate and helpful at home, every body loved Lora and had a kind word .for her, and everybody joins In grief at the sudden closing of her beautiful earthly life. Our only solace Is tears and the blessed assurance that the flower which grew so lovely here is only transplanted to the Garden of Paradise, to b*oom in a new and never ending life.
