WB learn that the farm house, known as the Steckton place, about a half mile West of Solon, was burned to the ground on Saturday last. It was one ot the best farm houses In the town of Richmond. The fire caught in the garrot, and was probably from a defective chimney. It was insured for 9800. I HAVB always observod that if a little town has the good fortune to have a leader In whom the citizens have confidence, it will go ahead; but where they have none, and the people do net work together, but some pull, haw and gee, and some pull back and some don't pull at all, and all want to ride, it makes no progress.--.Eg£-.
