Many come long distances to secure his services, and many remarkable cures are coming to our notice, and all who employ his methods of treatment speak in the most flattering terms. The new method is, without doubt, a grand success in the annals of medicine. Dr. HOWE has been kept busy during the past week shipping medicine to pa tients by express, to all parts of tbestate, Iowa and Wisconsin. Many order treat ment for catarrh, bronchitis and con sumption by mail, and the doctor sends packages sufficient tor one or two months treatment at the rate of four dollars per month, charging nothing for the use of his apparatus, which the patient returns when cured. Gray in all shades is the proper caper, and the limbs of beauty and fashion will now be clad in ail shades of morning mist. The black stocking has had its day, just why no one can tell. It is not beautiful, and has a tendency to lessening tbe size and spoiling the contour of a shapely leg. No more black stockings will be taken on subscriptions at th?s office. ON Tuesday next the 41st Annual frair of the McHenry County Agricultural Board will open and everything promises one of the most successful Fairs held for years. A CHICAGO artist, who is sojourning at Pistaqua bay, sent for Hon. H. W. McLean, on Saturday last, and painted his picture. What he is going to do with it we did not learn, but we can assure him of one thing, that he will not have a picture in ;-feis studio that will attract more attention, or be of more historic interest than "our Hank." He is now in his 89th year and is ashale and hearty as twenty years ago, and a sounder or better posted Republican it is hard to find. He says he will make himself heard during the campaign if nothing happens to prevent. 0. W. HusoN,of\Tolo, who has suffered for years with necrosis of tbe bones of her left foot, is still improving rapidly \under the skillful treatment of Dr. Howe. Although her case has heretofore baffled the skill of many other physicians, both in this section and at]Chicago,rDr. Howe has Fucceeded in removing all of the dead bones, and the wounds and ulcers are nearly all healed, pain is banished and health and strength is becoming appar ent. In fact she is not confined to the house any more, but attends church with the family and is often seen in town. Ve sincerely hope that her recovery may be complete. THE man who hopes to have bis town obtain permanent prosperity, says the Omaha World-Herald, will patronise his home paper. That paper is generally ac cepting as reflecting the character of the town. Enterprising people cannot afford to be misrepresented by a sheet that is an aggregation of typographical errors and dead medicine ads. The paper that is well supplied with fresB local advertis ing will very readily improve its columns of reading matter. A good locfftl news paper is the best advertisement that a town may have.
