Dntn.--At Englewood, 111., Sept. 14 th, 1894, Mrs. Chas. H. Pierce, aged 44 years. Isadore Talbott was born in Nunda Aug. 25,1850. Her early life was spent 6n the farm then owned by Wm. Talbott, situated about one mile southw'est of McHenry. At the age of seventeen she moved with her mother and sisters to McHenry, where she attended school and afterward taught the primary and inter mediate departments. In the fall of>1870 she went to Englewood, III., and attend ed the Cook County Normal School for two years and graduated, and then taught in the same building until the time of her marriage to C. H. Pierce, of Goshen, lnd., which took place Dec. 25,1873. She had always enjoyed good health until after her mother's death when she gradually began to fail. When medical aid was called it was found that her life was short. She had been con fined to her bed since last May and was a terrible sufferer. She was a true wife and loving mother , and took death very hard. She passed quietly away on Fri day evening, leaving a husband, two daughters, three sisters and a large num ber of friends to mourn her loss. Her funeral was held from the Presbyterian church, in Englewood, of which she was a member, on Sunday, Sept. 16, and her remains placed in Oakwood cemetery. • Course of Study for the MoHenry Schools Has been adopted and published by order of the Board of Education. The course* was printed by the McHenry Plaiadealer, and is one of the finest pieces of job work ever turned out by any printing office. It contains a cut of the new building, names of the officers and teachers, rules and regulations for the government of the school, as well as a complete outline of the work to be done from the time the child enters school till the work is finish ed. The course is composed of eleven grades or years work, two in the primary room, two in the second primary room, two in the intermediate, two in the gram mar, and three in the high school. Those who complete the course will receive a diploma. Parents living in this vicinity and having children who can no longer be accommodated at the district school should send them here. Before deciding to do otherwise call on any member of the Board of Education or the Principal, and get a copy of the Course of Study. The rates of tuition are very reasonable, and there are no doubt several places in town where an energetic boy or girl mn work for his or her board, and attend school. All should be present Monday morning, October 1st. W. H. STRAYER, Principal. AN exchange, in an article on compli mentary tickets, has the following to say: "Speaking of complimentary tickets given to editors, we wish to say that these tickets are not complimentary. They are simply an exchange of courte sies. The tickets are given with an un derstanding always that their value are to be given in local notices of the enter tainment &t regular advertising rates, and so far as the newspaper is concerned there-is no such thing as'complimentary' tickets. It costs money to set type, do press work, buy paper and pay office rent and postage and for fuel and light, and when an editor accepts a ticket to the show he pays for it just the same as other people, the only difference being that the editor pays for his tickets in ad vertising instead of cash to the proprie tors of the show and he pays the cash to the printer and the pressman and the paper maker. Thats the difference.'-' POVERTY. Yon air all invited to a Poverty Party that the Ringwood Wimmen's Sosiety air goin to have at W. E. A CHICAGO LADY WritesGents: Received yonrs of the 6th and was very much surprised. I must say, however, I cannot praise Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin enough. For the past six months I have been troubled with gastric dyspepsia and indigestion, I could not eat or sleep with any comfort and was really dead for want of food and rest. I tried may kinds of medicines, but none helped me until my husband brought home a bottle of your Syrup Pepsin. After taking a few doses I felt better, and using it two weeks now I can eat anything and go to bed and sleep, where before I could not, and life sccma now worth living. Ii you wish to use this letter you are are welcome to do so. 1 MRS. NELLIE P. CLOUGH, 647 Austin Av., Chicago. For sale by J- A. Story. 7ml Awarded. Highest Honors--World's Fair.
