Martin and Rose Coates at­ tended the Ladies' Aid society at Mrs. Orlando Garrison's, Woodstock, last Thursday. There was an oyster supper at the home of Miss Orvilla Clark, given for Rev. Nickle's benefit. A good time was had by tdL Rev. Nickle preached a very good ser­ mon to an appreciative audience last Sunday evening. He will preach again in two wee&s. All are invited to attend these services. S. E. Clark's hand that was injured by the corn-husker is getting worse in­ stead of better. He went to Woodstock Monday and had it lanced by Dr. Primm. We hope it will get better soon. A merry party of young folks sur­ prised Geo. Thomas and family last Saturday evening. The evening was pleasantly passed in playing games, eat­ ing popcorn, apples, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas are royal entertainers and tiie young folks will not soon,,, forget their pleasant visit. Friday evening the entertained their friends at a very pleasant social in their hall. Miss Nina Sowers returned to her home in Elgin Friday after spending several days with her grandmother, Mrs. Millard. Saturday evening a merry party as­ sembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Claik. The evening was pleas­ antly passed in social games and music. The Ladies' Aid society of tha M. E. church gave a chicken pie supper at the church parlors Thursday evening. It was well attended and about 16 dollars was cleared. Wednesday evening the Rip Van Winkle club entertained at a dance in the Oakland hall. It was a very pleas­ ant affair and was very much enjoyed by those who were present. BIDOXVULO. Button residence where Mrs. Hewitt prepared a bountiful sup­ per. After a delightful evening Mr. Hewitt saw that they all were safely de­ posited in their homes.
