It is something that can not be lost, but rather will form a nucleus about which the high school graduate can weave a web of knowledge that can never be broken. It is not necessary for a boy or girl to attend college to gain a higher education. The price of good books today makes it possible for anyone to spend their hours of leisure in storing up knowledge in any and all studies. It is absolutely necessary, however, that the pupils should finish the high school course, for it is there that they are fired with a desire to learn more, it is there that tbey first comprehend the value of an active and intellectual mind. Their eyes are opened, they can see out into the open and note the attainments of man and the progress of the world, realizing that they can take but a small part in this work without education. We are sorry to say there are parents who have taken their children from school before reaching the high school. It does not seem possible that they would do so, unless it was absolutely necessary, if the matter was given serious thought. The boy or girl may be worth a few dollars at home now, but the value of just a few more years of study can not be estimated.
