Burnra of Chicago were here over Sun­ day. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Renehen of Bound Lake, were visitors at R. J. Sutton's Sunday. Mrs. P. Walsh went to Chicago last Friday to help care for her sister, Mrs. T. Bolger. Messrs. C. W. Gibbs and E. P. Flem­ ing of Chicago called on friends in this vicinity recently. J. A. Farrell and Ed. J. Farrell of Chicago were the guests of relatives here over Sunday. Mr. aud Mrs. John Armstrong and children of Chicago took possession of their cottage here Tuesday. Mrs. John Powers and Mrs. Ellen Cleary of Elgin are spending a few days this week with relatives here. Rev. Fr. Foley of McHenry and Rev. Fr. Sutton and family Wednesday. Mrs. Schade of Johnsbargh spent a few days h^re the first of the week with Mra C. Bremer, who drove from Chi­ cago on Thursday last. Pahl Armstrong loft for an extended business trip to the East, the last of the week, leaving his family nicely settled n their slimmer home here. The Elgin Crescents are camping in the Park and are enjoying the pleasant weather, playing ball, etc. They were defeated Sunday by the Emerald Park team, but were victorious Wednesday in a game with the McHenry boys. Score 22 to 11. (BY ONE OF THE TEAM.) The Emerald Park base ball team covered itself with glory last Sunday by defeating Elgin's crack Crescent ball team. It was a very exciting game and the Crescents took theii^ defeat to heart. The score stood 15 to 9 in the ninth in­ ning in favor of the Crescents, with two men out, when Emerald Park rallied and drove in seven runs, winning the game.
