Among the stock holders is Edward D. Shurtleff, speakei -of the house of representatives. The length of the proposed line, from Woodstock, its northern terminal, to Sycamore, its southern, is thirty-seven miles. Both terminal cities are county seats. Officials of the company state that the line from one end to the other, ! rnris thru the most productive and thick- j ly settled farm section in the state. The enterprising Brna of Perry ^Martin is making some long needed and excellent improvements in its store, which when completed will make it one of the handiest and handsomest stores in this part of the county. They have taken down the partition in the west end, making the store sixteen feet deep er, changed the stairs for the second story and basement to the north side, thus making them more convenient and not taking up half the room as before. They will also put in a new front of modern style. The sixteen feet which they have added to the west end of the store will be fitted up as a cloak and shoe department, where witlT the aid of two large windows ample opportunity will be offered to the ladies to fit them selves with a cloak or a pair of shoes without being jostled by the general customers In short, their improve ments will be complete, not only in re paid to looks, but convenient for their large trade. « A Humane Appeal.
