CANDIDATE. .FOR iuDGE OF J U D I C I A g TRICT. I --PRIMARIES^-'"' Tuesday, April 13,1909. Will Get a Big Vote-*-Lake County to Have a Judge The justness of Lake county's claim to a circuit judgeship seems to be recognized thruout the entire district, and Hon. Charles Whitney of Waukegan, and his friends, have every reason to believe that Mr. Whitney will ]be one of the next circuit judges. Mr. Whitney has many supporters in McHenry county who will be gla<| to know that Winnebago county, the largest in the district, is supporting Lake county's candidate. The Rockford Republic of March 3 in speaking of the candidacy of Mr. Whitney. Said: "Hon. Charles Whitney of Waukegan is a candidate for circuit judge in the seventeenth judicial district, and, being the choice of Lake county, the second tjounty \in the district, which is also heartily for Judge Frpst ofit Kockford/$^^ e£j>ed)e<i;$|at he will secure a bfe vote in Winnebago county. , { K; 1 ' • "Mr. Whitney is running for the bench because Lake county, with its big volume of legal business, seeks representation on the bench. All his supporters in Lake county are working zealously also for Judge Frost, and Lake county believes that it is only equitable tbat Winne bago county voters cast one of their votes for Lake county's candidate, Ir. Whitney, who is a gentleman splendidly equipped for service upon the bench. ' f "Mr. Whitney's friends in Winnebago county declare that Lake -county has too long b^er without a resident judge; that the honor should be passed around; that a judgeship should now be given to Lake county, which ranks very close to Winnebago county. With this end in view many voters here are now supporting Mr. Whitney's,candidacy, and, with the.big vote which Mr. Whitney is certain of in Lake and McHenry counties, victory for the Lake county man is positive. 4? ' Mr. Whitney is a man of vast legal experience ahd matured judgement. v He is a recog nized leader among lawyers in the state, sound, jjist and able, and if he is elected to the bench will surely be a notable acquisition to the judiciary of the state.
