Miss Clara Schoof commenced last week Wednesday on her duties as bookkeeper in the main telephone office at Woodstock. A. Anners will, in pleasant weather, convey her to and from work in his new auto. Mrs. John Nelson and little daugh ter of Batavia are visiting with Mrs. Nelson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Haughawout. It is learned later that Mrs. Nelson is under the doctor's care for pleurisy in a severe form. A very cordial invitation is extend ed to everyone to attedd the social under the management of the Ladies' Aid society at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Brown Friday evening, Sept. 29. Refreshments served for fifteen cents. The Ladies' Cemetery association will serve an anniversary dinner in the assembly room of the church Oct. 5. The menu will consist of hot chick en, mashed potato and gravy, salad and many other dainties, coffee and pie. Dinner will be served from 12 to 1 o'clock.
