Richardson returned last week from a visit of several days with her mother in Chicago. C. W. Davis and wife brought their baby daughter up from the southern part of the state for buri&L Mrs. Dayis would be known to many as Miss Ethel Abbott, daughter" of T. Av Ab bott. , Mr. Cooley, who has been living since spring on his uncle's farm, known to many as the^ Martin farm, has moved to McHenry. The uncle will look after his own farm thje remainder of the year. The storms last week were veyy dis couraging to farmers. Many of them had just cut down a quantity of hay and were unable to take care erf it un til, this week. It was considerably damaged, but not so bad as they feared. Peafrl Havelin, a son-in-law of C, H. Snyder, was quite seriously injured Sunday afternoon last by having his motorcycle overturn while descending a hill at the rate of forty-five miles an hour. Ben Brown was going in the opposite direction with his automobile and was in sight of Havelin wh^n the accident occurred, but the distance was so great he did not decide for certain what he saw until he came up. He lifted the machine off the man. The engine was over him and burned him considerably. His neck was badly bent. He could not have lived many minutes in this condition.
