Jacob Ju^ten Fielding In the Second iMkfcAf Loses Game for, McHenry--SaW- berg Touched Freely The McHenry Sox lpat their fifth game of the season at' the local ball park list Sunday afternoon, when the L. and L. club of Rockford rubbed it into them to the tune of 6 to 2. One bad inning, the second,, settled the fracas. In this heart rending round our boys were away off their feet and before they were able to set tle down upon mother earth the vis itors had placed the game safely on ice. However, after that painful sec ond, the McHenry squad settled down to business and during the balance of the contest the fans were treated to some good baseball, altho they were not able to overcome the big lead obtained by Rockford. Kluckholm pitched a real clever game for the enemy, being nicked but four times, while his strike-out record was placed at an even dozen. His pitching easily featured the game, which, by innings, was as follows: First inning: McGaw out, Bowen to Conley. Tholifi out, Bending to Conley. Nordquist singled to left. QThelen struck out. One hit, no runs. McHenry: Koob fanned. Com- pskey out, KlutJkholm to Walsh. Brails- ford skied to Walsh. No hits, no runs. Second inning: Johnson out, Sahl-| 1>erg to Conley. Belting walked and went to second when Warner made a bad throw to first in an attempt to get fche runner off the bag. Walsh shot a The laterft and bedft ..PICTURES.. Cdmis- key handled the hit all right, but his throw to first was about a mile high, the error allowing Belting to score, while the batter went all the way to second. Ledeau bounced a hot one to Bowen. Bowen threw to first, but Coniey failed to squeeze the ball and the runner was safe while Walsh scored. Ledeau went to second on a passed ball by Warner and a moment later rode home on Kluckholm's single to right. McGaw also planted a single into right, Kluckholm going to third. Comiskey lost Tholin's rap, Kluck holm scoring and McGaw taking third. Tholin stole second. Nord quist singled to center, McGaw and Tholin scoring. Nordquist stole second while Thelen was striking out. John son fanned. Three hits, six runs. McHenry: Opfergelt out, Kluck holm to Walsh. Bowen skied to Belting in left. Fine Job of Painting Howard & McAndrews, the painters and decorators, have just finished painting the house and all other buildings on the Riverside dairy farm owned and occupied by S. H. Freund, who resides a short distance north of this village on the Johnsburgh road. The job of painting is a first- class one and is most satisfactory. Howard Bros, painted the same build ings a few years ago, which means that the work was satisfactory else of the brothers would not have been re-engaged at this time. Mr. Freund has one* of the most complete I and up-to-date dairy farms in this vicinity and he always takes great pride in keeping same in A No. l| condition. ; • . -.It s,.* J, Work en Qty Hall Ftmi-** • • We are informed that work has been started at the Terra Cotta fac- ] tory on the material to be used for the i front of our new village hall.
