The heavy rains of last week were welcome to all, as many weils and cisterns were nearly dry, and fall plowing was impossible until now. The brick yard has about closed work for the season and only a few men are now engaged around the yard. We believe they have one more ljiln to burn. Marriejd--At the residence of Hon. Thompson died at her home at Greenwood on Monday morn­ ing of consumption. Her funeral was held on Tuesday and her remains de­ posited in the Ringwood cemetery.
