His remarks were followed by a mighty cheer from the 200 men present. ^ The McHenry Military band qlso contributed towards the» success of the occasion by its appearance at the hall after its rehearsal at the school auditorium. The selections, were ap preciated to say the least. After the sandwiches and coffee had been partaken of some of the boys gathered on the platform for a few songs and general jollification, which part of the evening's program was thoroly enjoyed. Just before the serving of refresh ments the chairman announced that the expense of the "eats" as well as everything connected with the holding of the demonstration would be borne by the two banks of the villagfe. I trust that nothing will stand in the. way of immediate action, as the walls need attention as soon as pos sible, and besides this, work can be as well done in a couple of weeks as in a couple of months. My last word to every member of the congregation is, when you are asked to put your name down for a subscription, that it will be as large as you can possibly make it, and that you will remember in subscribing that you are leaving a monument for the future. Let it be a beautiful one and one that your children will be proud of. To accomplish^ this every man and wpman in the congregation must work as one combination and be en thused with the idea thfet nothing is too good for the House of God, and that whatever is done for (Sod will be returned most abundantly in bless ings by Him. Assuring you of my interest in this work, and that at any time I am willing to assist you in any way possible, I am, . Very truly yours, <' P. J. Xuldoon^ r Bishop of Rockford.
