The committee on decora­ tion consists of Mrs. R. T. Wray, Misses Lillian Heimer and Esther Stoffel. The sack of flow was won by Mrs. Frank Hughes. Receipts were $68.70. Proceeds will be used as necessary for expense of campaign. Remainder turned in the local treasury. Speed up the sweaters. A dozen more will be needed. Everybody leav­ ing will receive a supply of all knitted articles in time, but at present the supply on hand is low. The vice chairman wijl see that they are sup­ plied from county chapter if possible. The lecture by Mrs. Margaret Bangs given at the Red Cross room on Fri­ day afternoon was deeply appreciated by the ladies present. Mrs. Bangs is thoroly posted on war conditions and strict authority on the food sit­ uation over here and "over there." Eighteen of the ladies present signi­ fied thei{ desire for a home adviser in McHenry township. The ladies who gave voluntary ser­ vices so ~ faithfully in the preparation and serving of the Hoover dinner will accept grateful appreciation from Chairman Floyd E. Covalt The workers included Mrs. John Niesen, Mrs. F. 0. Gans, Mrs. A. Schneider, Mrs. L. I. Edinger, Mrs. N. P. Justen, Mrs. Jack Walsh and Misses Clara Schiessle, Elizabeth Freund, Blanche and Mary Meyers. The Red Cross has the right of way this week and its mission is: Rescu­ ing thousands of war-scattered chil­ dren, encouraging all to whom Ger­ mans are foes, distributing cheer, to the victim of Kultur, changing to joy that the field secretary that was here informed us we were to open no more work rooms in surgical for the presen so we promised to write you this, as Mrs. J*.
